American Beauty Haul!

Hey everyone!

It actually feels like FOREVER since I last blogged (sorry!). Anyway since I got back from America, I was straight back to college and have had literally no time to do anything. I just started a masters and I've so much work to do so that's pretty much all I've been doing. Anyway enough with the excuses haha! Here's a few beauty items I picked up while I was on holidays in Florida. I literally had the best time ever there. It's such an amazing place and everyone's so friendly. I'll put up a random photo post soon so you can see what it was like.

I didn't get as much beauty products as I thought I was going to get. They had loads of the same brands we can get here in Ireland and I wanted to get some stuff that I can't get. Some stuff was more expensive than I was expecting so I just picked up a few cheaper products instead. Let me know what you think or if you've used any of these products before let me know how you got on with them.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in 739 Ticket to Brazil
Everyone knows I love my bronzer! I haven't used this yet but initially when I bought it I thought it was going to be similar to the Essence one I normally use. It's quite pigmented but has a little bit of shimmer which I don't really like so I'm not sure if I'll use it much. I'll definitely use it during the summer though. I got this for $4.49 in Walgreens.

EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet
I've heard so much about this before I went and I couldn't wait to get it but to be honest it's not all that it's made out to be. It's kind of dry and doesn't really spread well onto the lips. It comes out clear which is good for just softening the lips but I don't find it very good for hydrating my lips. I got this for $4.29 in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild 80% Longer Lashes Waterproof Mascara in C143 Very Black
This mascara is actually quite good. I think it's really good for de-clumping your lashes and the smaller brush is perfect for the lower lash line. It was $3.49 in Walgreens.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Shock and Pink Punch
Everyone has literally been raving about these all summer so I was so excited to try them out. I got the pink shock colour as it's quite subtle but still adds a bit of colour. The pink punch is one of my favourite beauty purchases in a while. I love how it's a darker colour but still a lip balm. They taste amazing and make your lips so soft. These were $4.79 each in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild Lipstick in 502A Dark Pink Frost and 511B Nouveau Pink
Saw these lipsticks and debated whether or not I'd get them. Then I saw they were only $0.99 each in Walgreens and that made up my mind fairly quickly! I have loads of bright pink lipsticks and the Nouveau Pink one is pretty much the same as them all but maybe not as dark. The darker colour (Dark Pink Frost) is almost like a darker nude colour. It's quite shimmery and comes out quite light.

Elf Lip Stain in 22121 Pink Petal
I've heard a lot about lip stains but never actually bought one. I saw this one and figured I'd try it out. The texture is weird and it actually felt and tasted like I was drawing on my lips with a marker. The colour itself is actually a nice natural colour and it stays on for so long. It's a good base for a lighter lipstick or a clear lip balm or gloss. However, I found it really dried out my lips. I got it for only $2 in Target.

Elf Liquid Eyeliner in 4203 Black
I don't really use eyeliner that much but as this was only $1 in Target I figured I should just buy it. It's really easy to use, the brush is good and it really stays put which is great when you're out but not so great when you try and take it off haha!

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours Lipstick in 529 Thalia
Ok I am literally in love with this lipstick. It's so much nicer on than it looks. It's such a perfect day-time colour. It's a darker pinky nude colour and it's probably my favourite lipstick ever! I've practically worn it every day since I got it and so many people have admired it. It's a creamy texture and really pigmented. Loving it SO much. It was $3.99 in Target.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blusher in 832E Heather Silk
This is such a pigmented blusher. It has a reddish tone to it that is actually a little dark so I only use a small bit of it. It comes with a little brush that's handy for travelling when you don't want to bring loads of brushes. It was $2 in Walgreens.

Conair 1¼ inch Curling Iron
I've always wanted a medium sized barrel in a curler and when I saw this I knew it'd be perfect. You get bigger, loose curls which was exactly what I wanted. It has different heat settings and heats up really quick. It was $20.99 in Walgreens.

Ok so that's all for my American beauty haul! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Let me know what you think of the products or if you have any questions please let me know. Have another few posts planned so hopefully they'll be up soon!

August Favourites!

Hola Fashionistas!

For today's post I'm going to talk to you about the things I've been loving throughout the month of August. Let me know what your favourites have been and what you think of mine.

Essence Bronzer

I've mentioned this product SO much but it's because I absolutely love it. I was on hols in July and I obviously got a tan so this bronzer was perfect to keep that glowing, tanned, sun-kissed looking skin.

Naked Palette

I've had this palette for a while now but I found myself using it a lot more this month. I took it on hols with me because the colours went with every outfit I wore yet I was still able to alternate between the colours and create different looks. With a mixture of matte and shimmer colours it's a perfect palette.

MAC Creme Cup Lipstick

Loved this colour throughout the month. I used it almost every day. It's the perfect pinky/nude colour that gives a subtle colour to your lip. Loving it.

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

Another MAC lipstick I've been loving this month is this bright pink one. It's such a bright, bold colour that really makes your lips stand out. It stays on all night and doesn't dry out your lips.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I've only recently started using dry shampoo and God have I been missing out. As well as it being good for hiding your needs-to-be-washed hair, I find it really good for adding a bit of texture to hair that's just too sleek. Sometimes I find it hard to style my hair when it's just washed and it sometimes looks a bit lifeless. I find that using this just instantly takes away like sleekiness without taking away the shine.

Body Butter

Since I came back from Turkey, my skin has been quite dry and started to peel. I used this body butter to moisturise my skin and prevent peeling. It was super cheap and worked so well. Plus it smells like raspberries so you can't really say no to it!

Catrice Brow Kit

Again, I've mentioned this product a few times before but I've really loved it this month. I've used it every single day throughout August and it's really good for defining your eyebrows. I use it mainly during the day taking barely any product on the brush so it's not too heavy. It's perfect for a night time look though. I love how it makes your brows really defined and dark.

Pinterest

I've been on Pinterest for over a year now but this month I found myself using it way more. Since I set up my blog's Facebook page, I've been turning to Pinterest for some style inspiration and I just think it's a fab app. Anyone that doesn't have it needs to get it and anyone that does have it can follow me here!

That's all my favourites for this month hope you enjoyed them. Share your favs with me I'd love to hear them!

Fav Holiday Beauty Products!

Ok so I know I'm a little late with this post but it's still summer and since I'm going on another holiday in two weeks I thought I'd share my holiday beauty favourites with you. These products are what I used most when on holidays in Turkey and will definitely be bringing them to America with me.

Body Butter
I used this body butter every night after my shower to make sure my skin stayed hydrated and I wouldn't peel the second I set foot on Irish soil. It was really cheap and got it in my local supermarket. It smells amazing and drys in pretty quick.

Bronzer
Ok I think it's safe to say now that anyone who has been reading my blog knows I love my bronzer. Well I loved it even more on hols. It's such a perfect beauty essential to keep in your handbag on hols. You can literally apply it all over your face and not even bother to use a foundation. It's really light on your skin and it gives such a glowing complexion that I love. A definite beauty must.

Lipstick
I love a bright lip on holidays but this year I chose to bring only two lipsticks; a bright colour (girl about town) and a nude (creme cup). I actually ended up wearing the nude colour a lot more than I thought I would have. These two colours would go with any outfit so they were the perfect ones to bring. Really loving Mac lipsticks they stay on for hours!

Naked Palette
I wanted to keep my eye look simple and easy on holidays so I thought my Naked Palette by Urban Decay would be perfect. I chose to bring that one over the second palette because there's a mix of matte and shimmer colours. It was a perfect palette to bring as you can still keep a natural look but it can be altered so that you're not wearing the same look every night.

Lip Balm
This is perfect for during the day to keep your lips moisturised and hydrated. I got this one as a present from Kevin and OMG it smells amazing! I wore it a lot on hols (so much that it ended up melting oops!).

Lacura Beauty Care Cream
Love this product. I tend to use it after the shower almost as a face moisturiser right before I put on my make up. It's amazing for clearing up and blemishes and I love the fact it doesn't dry out your skin either.

Sun Cream
Obviously this is a complete holiday essential. Since I've already been in the sun, when I go to America I'm not going to need as high a factor starting off. I have an SPF 15 that I prob won't use (I might start with a 10 or an 8) and then I'm going to use a tanning oil towards the end. Please do not use oil if your skin is not used to the sun! It can be really dangerous plus the whole lobster look is way out of season.

Nail Polish
My last beauty essential has got to be a bright nail polish. Kevin got me this one after I spent months obsessing over it and I have to say I am still in love with it. It's a perfect summer colour and is probably my favourite nail polish I own.

Hope my holiday beauty favs are useful to you. Let me know what your holiday essentials are I'd love to hear them.

MUA Cosmetics Haul!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts in July but I was super busy! I was away in Turkey on hols for two weeks so I apologise for not writing more. Today's post is going to be a MUA Cosmetics haul but before I begin I just want to mention two things. First is that I recently set up a Facebook page for my blog which you can view here! If you could like the page I'd be really grateful. I'll set up a link on my actual blog too which should make things easier. Secondly, I set up an email address for my blog which is rainbowsandfairydustblog@gmail.com! If you have any business enquiries, suggestions for blog posts or any other questions you can contact me on that. Now onto the haul!

So while I was on holidays I saw that MUA Cosmetics had a sale and a really good one at that! So I decided to have a look and picked up a few things. They are such an affordable make up brand with great quality products. I got everything for around €16 including €4.95 shipping.

Blusher-Shade 1

This blusher is a peachy/coral colour and is really pigmented. It might be a bit too light for my skin but I'm looking forward to tying it out. It was only £1.00 and can be bought here!

Blusher-Marshmallow

This blusher is super pigmented. It's a real bright pink colour that I love. Although it's small, I can see it lasting a while because it's so pigmented you don't need to use too much of it. It was £1.00 and can be found here!

Shimmer Kiss Bronzer-Bronzed Shimmer Kisses

I haven't tried this out yet but I'm really looking forward to using it. I normally don't like shimmery bronzers but I'm going to use this as a highlighter which I think would look perfect with a tan. I think a little bit on the cheek bones and maybe even the collar bones will go a long way to get that perfect glowing looking skin. It was £1.50 and can be purchased from here!

Bronzer-Shade 2

I'm really reluctant to buy other bronzers because I love Essence's so much but for £0.50 I figured I couldn't go wrong. I love bronzer so this is a little small for me but I think I'm going to use it for contouring. It comes in different shades and again is very pigmented. It can be picked up from here!

Lipstick-Shade 4

These lipsticks are fab for only £1.00. They have a cute little lip balm that screws into the bottom of the lipstick which is perfect for keeping your lips hydrated. The lipstick is a sheer colour and almost feels like a lip balm. Although in the picture it looks really pink, on the lips it comes out almost clear. It can be found here!

Lipstick-Shade 6

The colour is really subtle and a perfect day time colour. It's a slight pink colour and isn't as dark as it looks in the picture. Again it has the lip balm at the bottom and is really hydrating. It was £1.00 and can be found here!

Fashionista Double Take Lipstick-Shade 4 Raspberry

This colour is a dark pink and is perfect for summer. I love the texture and the quality is really good. The colour again is a perfect subtle colour which is ideal for a day time look. It was £1.50 and can be bought from here!

Fashionista Double Take Lipstick-Shade 10 Ultra Pink

This is probably my favourite lip colour that I bought from MUA Cosmetics. It's a real vibrant pink colour that is a perfect colour for a dramatic night time look. I love bright pink lips and I will definitely be using this a lot. Again it was £1.50 and can be found here!

That's all my MUA Cosmetics purchases (for now anyway!). I hope you liked them! If you have any questions or suggestions for future posts please let me now :) I promise August will be a better month for blogging! Chat soon!

Summer Beauty Haul!

Hey guys!

Sorry it's been a while since my last post I've been super busy lately! Over the past few weeks I've been picking up a few beauty items; some everyday essentials and some new products I wanted to try out. There's a couple of things I've picked up so I'm sorry if it's a bit long but I thought I'd share them with you anyway!

Angelica Nail Polish in "Skylar"
I picked up this nail polish as I really wanted a pastel blue colour for summer. Angelica is a great brand; it's cheap, cheerful and you don't need loads of coats. I thought this colour would be gorgeous for summer and would go with any outfit. It was €2.75 in Penneys (Primark).

Benefit They're Real Mascara
I've already mentioned this in a few posts now so I won't go into too much detail. I've been loving this mascara ever since I got a sample of it for Christmas. Sadly, that sample has been used up so I went and purchased the full size for €26 in Debenhams.

Essence Sun Club "Brunettes" Matte Bronzing Powder
I LOVE bronzer whether it's for contouring, adding a bit of colour or just simply blending in with a tan in summer. I've tried a few bronzers but my go-to one is the Essence Sun Club in the shade "Brunettes". It comes in two sizes and it's matte so there's no shimmer. Mine ran out so I quickly repurchased this for summer. I'll have to buy another one before my hols as this one is almost gone too (oops!). Did I mention I love bronzer?! I got the bigger version which is a steal at €4.79 in Penneys.

NYC Cheek Glow Blush in "West Side Wine"
I wanted to try a new blusher as the ones I normally use are a pale pink colour so I said I'd try this out. It looked darker than the ones I normally wear but it's actually not very pigmented. I have to get loads of product on my brush and it barely comes out. I can't complain though it was only €2.99 in Sam McCauleys.

Catrice All Round Concealer
I've always used a liquid based concealer but since it ran out I decided to try a cream one. The Catrice palette is perfect. It gives a selection of different shades of beige to match different foundations and skin tones and also gives a green colour (to cover red areas) and a pink colour (to cover dark circles). The consistency is great and it hides blemishes well. I do feel that it doesn't stay on as long as I need it to. I got this for €3.99 in Sam McCauleys.

Catrice Eyebrow Set
I've always used an eyebrow pencil to fill in my eyebrows but I really wanted to try out a powder and see how it'd turn out. None of my brown eyeshadows were the right colour for my eyebrows so I said I'd purchase this little kit and I have to say I'm impressed. I really like it. I usually tend to wear it going out when I want a darker, more defined eyebrow. It comes in two shades; a dark and light. It also comes with a cute mini tweezers and a mini spoolie hidden in a little slide-out drawer in the bottom. It's a perfect size and I really love it. It's really pigmented and even though it's small it's lasting quite well. This was €4.49 in Sam McCauleys.

Real Techniques "Expert Face Brush"
Ok every beauty blogger and youtuber has been raving about these brushes since they came out. I finally caved about 2 weeks ago and bought one and I have to say it's as good as it's made out to be. I needed a new foundation brush anyway so I figured I may as well get this one. I ordered it online from The Hut and it was €14.99. When it came it was much smaller than I thought. The bristles are great and it really does give a flawless finish but I feel it soaks up the foundation more than my other brushes and I'm using twice as much with it. Other than that though it's fab. I will definitely be buying more.

Mac Lipstick in "Creme Cup"
Up until my birthday 2 months ago, I've never owned anything by Mac. My friends got me one of their lipsticks and I loved it so much I went and bought another in a different shade. I've wanted another day-time nude lipstick with a more pinky tone for a while so that's what I picked up. I've worn it almost every day since and I have to say I love it. This was €18 in Brown Thomas.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation in "Classic Beige 201"
This was just another re-purchase. I've been using this foundation for a couple of years now and I really like it. It gives great coverage and it stays on for long (but maybe not 25 hours haha!). I got this in Boots for €8.85.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in "Floral & Flirty Blush"
I've never really liked dry shampoo before. It never really worked for me and would constantly make my hair look white. But I said I'd try the Batiste one and I really like it. It gives texture to your hair too so it's good for messing up your hair before styling if it's too sleek. This was €3.99 in Boots.

Batiste Dry Styling XXL Plumping Powder
Boots were doing a buy one get one half price offer so that's why I picked this up. I've always been curious if these type of products actually work. I've only used it once or twice for a little volume and it has really helped. It does make your hair a little sticky though if you don't rub it in quickly enough. So far I'm happy with it. It was €5.29 in Boots.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in "Deep 4"
Again, another product that literally everyone has raved about and sadly I've never owned it until now. So far I'm impressed. I've had it about a week and a half  now and I'm pleased with it. It gives good coverage and it's long lasting. I got this for €6.49 in Boots.

Lacura Beauty Care Cream
This was recommended to me by someone so that's why I bought it. I had never of heard it before. It's a cream that clears up any blemishes or scarring that's similar to bio oil. I've had a serious case of spots lately and I've tried loads of different products to get rid of them and they just won't go away (stubborn little feckers!). Anyway, I've only used this for the last two nights but I've already seen an improvement. My spots have definitely gotten smaller and that's with only using it twice. It can be used all over the body too which is fab. There was an oil too that's meant to be better but that was out of stock the day I went. It was €4.99 in Aldi.

So that's all of my beauty purchases for a while! Hope this post wasn't too long. Let me know what you guys think or if you have tried out any of these products yourself I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.
