Airport Outfits!

Hey guys! For today's post I thought I'd talk about the outfits I think are perfect for travelling in. So I'm going on holiday number two to Florida on Saturday and I'm so excited! I obviously want something that looks nice but considering I'll be on a plane for 9 hours I think I need to be a bit sensible (boring!) and be a little more practical with my clothing. But being comfortable can also be stylish!

When I went to Turkey I wore a black maxi which was great but really tight at the end so not very good for carrying tonnes of suitcases around (and that's where Kev will come in handy for Florida!). So I've opted out of wearing the maxi but I'm still a little undecided as to what I'll wear. Jeans can be too tight but a dress is too much. I have some serious fashion issues right now! So I've been looking around and here's what I've come up with.

What do you wear travelling? Do you have a go-to outfit? Let me know! I won't be blogging until I come back but check out my Facebook page here to get updates from when I'm away! Chat soon!

Summer Outfits!

Hey everyone!

For today's post I'm going to go through some of my fav summer outfits. I personally love wearing bright colours during the summer months and try to keep the darker colours for winter.

Maxi Dress
I did a post just on maxi dresses not so long ago so I'm not going to go into too much detail about them here. These have got to be one of my fav outfits for summer. They can be dressy or casual depending on how you want to style them. I personally prefer the plain coloured maxis with a few accessories. I have a black one (yes I know I said I prefer colours for summer but shh!) that I can't wait to style. I just bought a cream studded bag (coming up in my fashion haul post soon) that will look perfect with it. A statement necklace, some stacked bracelets or a watch and a pair of sandals and the look is complete. If I was wearing this in Ireland I'd throw on a cardigan over it if it's a bit cool.

Skater Skirt
Another look I love. I rarely wear skirts but I love wearing them on hols. I love the skater skirt with a plain tank top and again paired with sandals and some statement jewellery. I posted an Outfit of the Night post recently with a skirt and top look that I can't wait to wear again.

Shorts
These are obviously a must for summer! They can be dressed up or dressed down for a casual look depending on how you style them. For a day time, casual look I usually would wear a casual tee or vest top and a pair of converse or vans. At night they can be paired with sandals, a more dressy top or again some statement jewellery.

Skinny Jeans
In Ireland we don't get much of a summer but it's not exactly cold enough to be wearing our winter clothes. So what do we wear? I love wearing skinny jeans with either sandals or pumps or even converse for a more casual look and a nice summery top. I love coloured skinny jeans and the bright colours are perfect for summer. If it's a little bit cool, just throw on a cardigan and you're good to go.

Leggings
I love leggings! Plus they're perfect for the Irish summer too. I don't really wear them much with long tops but I love them with certain dresses. I have two dresses that I wear navy leggings with. These dresses are too short to be worn on their own but they're perfect over leggings and a cardigan. I recently bought a black and white monochrome/aztec print dress that can be worn on it's own but I've worn it with black leggings.

That's all for my summer looks. I think these looks are perfect for summer and can be adjusted to suit all climates!

Looking Good at the Gym!

Ok so here's a quick post for those of you who still wanna look that little girly while at the gym!

First of all I hate using gyms with men (nah that's really just an excuse I'm just not really into this whole exercising thing at all!). And I always feel weird just sweating it out and letting my no make up face be exposed. I'm not conscious of it but let's be fair...some things should not be seen in public; or at least should be covered up haha! I also hate those girls that come in with a face full of make up; something you'd expect to see someone wear on a night out. But a little make up is fine by me especially if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I usually keep my make up light anyway so going to the gym I'd pretty much do my normal day-to-day make up without being totally neat about it. I start off with my Rimmel 25 hour lasting finish foundation and concealer. Then a little powder and bronzer and that's it! Nothing major.

Next it's the outfit...Obv this is the most important part. I just bought these 3/4 length leggings from Sports Direct and they're perfect. They're fitted and perfect for exercising and they were only €12! You can buy them here! I got them in a size XS.

Then I'd usually wear any sort of a vest top (pink is preferable!). Or in the winter if it's a little colder I wear a breathable long sleeved top I got from the Dublin marathon 2 years ago.

Now no outfit (even a gym outfit) is complete without shoes. I have the most gorgeous pair of runners that Kevin got me for my birthday. They are so unbelievably comfortable and I actually love them. Plus they're really cute! They were €42 on Sports Direct again and they can be purchased here!

For hair I'd just go with a normal ponytail! With an extra bobble for added protection haha!

That's it for my gym outfit hope it helps :)

OOTN!

Ok so here is my first Outfit Of The Night post!

It was my cousin's birthday on Friday so we went out for a few drinks and I thought I'd do a quick post on what I wore. It's a really simple and inexpensive look and it's perfect for summer.

Ok so the skirt is from Penneys and I absolutely love it! It has an elasticated waist band and it's really comfortable. The material is kind of heavy but it's so flowy you'd never be really too warm in it. I love the pattern on it and can't wait to wear it on holidays. I think it might look nice in the winter too with a pair of black tights. I bought this about 2 weeks ago for €11.

The top is just a plain black tank top. You can get these anywhere. The one I have is again from Penneys and was €3. I think a plain top is best with this skirt as a more dressy top could clash with the pattern in the skirt.

I got the shoes around the end of April/start of May to wear for my birthday. I am in love with the colour. I think they can really brighten up a dark outfit. I got them in New Look for about €22 I think.

I kept the jewellery simple. I just wore a silver statement necklace that I got in Penneys a while back. I wore a big watch that my boyfriend got me about 2 years ago and I also have a ring and my Pandora bracelet that Kevin also got me that I always wear.

Going out it was a little cool so I just threw on a black blazer and was good to go!

Hope you enjoyed this post! If you've tried this look or have other ideas for this look or for future posts I'd love to hear them so comment or tweet me them!

Converse Love!

In the last number of years the amount of people wearing converse has rapidly increased. A couple of years ago, I jumped on the bandwagon and bought a purple pair (R.I.P). Since then I have bought a total of 8 pairs!

I have two pairs of the boot-style ones, three of the chuck taylor-style ones and I recently threw out two other pairs (they really should have been thrown out about a year ago!).

I think they are so stylish and really easy to wear with almost anything. I personally love the boot style ones with jeans or leggings tucked into them paired with a long tshirt or baggy jumper. For the summer I think they are so cute with a pair of shorts. I’ve recently seen them being worn with skirts and midi/maxi dresses and there’s something really edgy about that look that I love. They are really comfortable and literally can be paired with almost anything! They’re such an effortless piece and totally on-trend. I don’t think they’ll be going out of trend anytime soon anyway!

Recent Fashion Purchases!

So fashion is most definitely one of my weaknesses and I am constantly shopping around town looking for something new. Penneys is my ultimate shopping heaven. I don’t think there’s been a single time I’ve went into Penneys and come out empty handed. So as the weather is getting a little warmer (well it’s supposed to be anyway!) I thought a few Spring/Summer fashion items were in order. Here are some of the things I have recently purchased.

So for my birthday, I received a gift voucher for River Island. I will admit I rarely shop here (although I love their bags and purses) as I’m not a huge lover of their stuff. I purchased this jumper on sale for €25 (down from €53!) but I’m still not sure how I feel about it. It’s a little baggy (but not in a nice way) and it’s just not a nice fit on me. I’ve seen it on other people and it’s lovely but I just don’t think it suits me. http://www.riverisland.com/women/knitwear/jumpers/Cream-stripe-textured-backless-jumper-632775

Recently, I’ve been really loving graphic tees. I think they’re really cute with a pair of leggings, jeans or even a skirt or shorts to make the look a bit dressy. I got this bargain of a top in Penneys last week for only €5! I love the rolled up sleeves and the length is perfect. I wore it with black leggings but I found I kept having to pull it down so I changed into black jeggings. I think it’d be really cute with a pair of skinny black shorts in the summer when the weather’s a bit warmer.

So as my holidays are fast approaching, new bikinis are a MUST for me every year. I’ve really been loving these fringe bikinis that have been seen everywhere. I got them both on ebay for around €6 each. I’m afraid the white will be seriously see-through but I think it’d look cute with a tan just chilling by the pool. The quality isn’t amazing but it’s not bad.

I saw these sandals from Penneys about 2 weeks ago and on Thursday I saw them again with only one pair left in my size so I figured it was fate and of course I grabbed them. I think they are so cute and will be perfect for my hols with a cute dress or skirt or even shorts. I think they’d be gorgeous with a pair of skinny jeans too. The detailing of the beads really make the sandals seem more expensive then what they were (a fab €15).

I’m a huge lover of big bags but recently I’ve been really loving the smaller cross-body bags. I got this AMAZING pink aztec River Island bag from Asos for around €33. I am in love with anything pink and I seriously love this bag. It’s a perfect summer must-have. http://www.asos.com/River-Island/River-Island-Aztec-Print-?Buckle-Front-Cross-Body-Bag/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2853828&SearchRedirect=true&SearchQuery=river%20island%20pink%20aztec%20bag

Finally, the last thing I purchased recently was this lovely lace navy dress for €17 from Tesco. It’s really light material so it’s perfect for holidays and those summer nights. I am a big lover of navy so I cannot wait to wear this with my new sandals. I think it would look great too with a pair of navy leggings if the weather is a bit cooler.

So thats all my purchases for a while! So until then...
