Blogmas Day 5: Budget Beauty Gift Guide

I've put together a few gift ideas for those who want to give some beauty products as gifts but may be on a budget. I use a lot of these brands myself and the quality of them are amazing. It's not always about the price tag remember!

1. Make Up Revolution Eyeshadow Palette - €11.12
I have a similar palette to this from Make Up Revolution and I must say I love it. Their quality is really good and their prices are very reasonable. Shipping is about €4 and doesn't take too long to arrive. I love this particular palette because it's all matte and has lots of shades that would compliment most, if not all, eye colours.

2. Make Up Revolution Pro Brush Collection - €16.67
I LOVE the look of these brushes! The set contains a powder brush, contour brush, small stippling brush which would be perfect for concealer, an eyeshadow brush, a crease brush and an eyeliner/brow brush. It's a perfect starter kit or a perfect set for extra brushes to add to your collection without spending a whole lot. I think I'm definitely gonna have to pick up some of these myself.

3. Sleek Gold Standard Eyeshadow Palette - €9.49
This palette looks amazing!!!! I love gold and bronze eyeshadows so for me this is a perfect palette. It's very reasonably priced and can also be bought in Boots. The palette has two cream shadows and four shimmer powders. It's the perfect palette for a Christmas or New Year's night out.

4. Real Techniques Brushes - From €7.99
These brushes are amazing. I have a good few of them and love them. You can buy them individually or in a set and Boots often do 3 for 2 offers on them which is great. They're very affordable and I love them. My favs are the setting brush which I use for highlighting, powder brush, blush brush and the expert face brush for my foundation.

5. Primark / Penneys Contour & Sculpt Set - €4
This contour kit looks absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of Penneys' make up range and I cannot wait to get my hands on this. If it's anything like their highlighter then it's a definite must have!

6. Make Up Revolution Blush and Highlight Set - €19.45
This set looks amazing. It comes with two palettes; one with six shades of blushers and another with six different highlighters. I have one of their blusher palettes already and I love the colours in them. They're really pigmented and have a variety of colours to suit different skin tones. The set also comes with a blush brush and a highlighter brush which is very handy.

Blogmas Day 23: Get Ready With Me-Casual Night Out!

Tonight myself and Kevin went to another panto take-off in town which was pretty terrible but anyway! I took some pics of me getting ready that I thought I'd share with you. If you have any questions let me know. Also, let me know what kind of posts you like coz I'm definitely going to blog more in the new year.

Make Up

Step 1: No Make Up!
So obviously before you put make up on you have to have none on :P

Step 2: Moisturise!
For this I used the Aldi beauty cream mentioned in a previous blog post that you can view here! I just dotted it over my face and blended it in until it was gone. This doesn't take long to dry too which is a plus.

Step 3: Foundation, Concealer and Eyeshadow Primer!
I blended two types of foundation here to get the perfect colour. The lightest colour is Rimmel Match Perfection in 201 Classic Beige and the darker colour is Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour in 201 Classic Beige. I blended these together and used my Real Techniques Expert Face brush to apply it. Then I used my Collection concealer in 4 Deep on any blemishes and used my foundation brush to blend it in to my skin. Then I applied Essence's I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base to ensure my eyeshadow would stay on for longer. I love this product! Then I used my Rimmel Stay Matte powder in 006 Warm Beige to help set my foundation.

Step 5: Eyeshadow!
I used the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay for tonight's look. I applied the colour Tease all over the lid first. Then I used Busted in the outer corner and blended it into the crease using a clean fluffy brush. Then I used Half Baked very lightly all over the lid and blended it all out to get rid of any harsh lines. Then I applied some Benefit They're Real Mascara which I did a whole review on here!

Step 6: Eyebrows!
I used my Wet n Wild Eyebrow Pencil to outline the shape of my eyebrows. I very lightly traced around the outline of my eyebrows. Then using my Catrice Eyebrow Kit, I filled in the rest of my eyebrows.

Step 7: Contour, Blush and Bronzer!
I used my Sleek Contour Kit in Light to contour my cheek bones. Then I used NYC Cheek Glow Blush in 652 West Side Wine. I then finished the look off with a little bit of Essence's Sun Club Brunettes Bronzer in 02 Sunny.

Hair

Step 1: Clean Hair!
Ok so I just washed my hair and let it air dry for about an hour before I took it out of the bun.

Step 2: Hair Products!
Before I brushed my hair, I used the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner, Avon's Advance Techniques Anti-Breakage Spray and then finally Tresemme's Salon Silk No Frizz Serum.

Step 3: Brush!
I used my tangle teaser to brush my hair to get rid of any knots and make my hair nice and smooth.

Step 4: Dry!
I blow dried my hair upside down to get  more volume. I also continuously brushed my hair while drying it to avoid frizz.

Final Touches!

To finish off my look, I put on my outfit, ran my GHD over my hair to get it smooth and silky and added some Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in 107.

Hope you guys liked this post. Please let me know what you thought of it and if you'd like me to do more.

2 Days til Christmas :)

November Favourites!

For today's post I'm going to briefly mention what I have been loving throughout the month of November. Let me know what you think and what your favourites are!

Nyx Lipstick

I have been loving this colour lately. It is such a nice colour, it's really smooth and can be worn with just about anything. Definitely been my go-to lipstick this month.

Baby Lips

Really loving these this month. Perfect for hydrating those dried out lips! They smell amazing and the darker pink one is a really nice lip colour as well. Would definitely recommend buying one of these!

MUA Bronzer

I've used this product every day in the last month and I don't intend on stopping anytime soon! I got this back in July or August as it was on sale for only 50cent! I didn't have much hope for it to be honest but I absolutely love it for contouring. It's darker than my normal bronzer and I've been seriously loving it. Will definitely be re-purchasing soon.

MUA Shimmer Kiss Bronzer

Again, I bought this over the summer super cheap and didn't really expect much from it. I've been using it as a highlighter and it works really well. It's really subtle and not very shimmery which I like.

NYC Blusher-West Side Wine

I really like this blusher and I think it's perfect for winter. It's really subtle and works well with the bronzer I use for contouring. It was really cheap and I will definitely be re-purchasing it.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

My hair has been really dry lately so I started using this again. I've had this for about a year and a half now and use it every now and again especially during summer when my hair is super dry. This stuff is amazing!!!! It leaves your hair so soft and silky, really shiny and your hair looks so healthy. I usually tend to use this once a week or maybe 2 times a week when my hair is really dry. I've heard it can actually damage your hair if you use it to replace your normal conditioner so I suggest only using it now and again. I highly recommend it!

Tressemme Hairspray

I got this hairspray last month for my graduation and it is so good. It was on offer in Tesco at the time so I said I'd just chance it. It smells really good and really holds your hair in place without looking like you've just drowned your hair in hairspray. It's a big bottle too which is good.

Snapchat

I only really jumped on the Snapchat bandwagon about a month or two ago but I seriously love it. I think it's a really good app and definitely one of my favourites and most regularly used!

Wagon Wheel-Nathan Carter

This song was played on the night of my graduation and I loved it straight away. I know it's been out ages but I never actually knew what it was called. Haven't stopped listening to it since!

Florida

Finally, I left the best til last! I think it's safe to say that I absolutely fell in love with Florida and it could definitely make it to every monthly favourites post for the next year haha! I was recently looking through the photos so that's why it's included in this post. Florida was literally the best place I have ever been to and cannot wait to go back (hopefully next summer...ahem Kevin?!).

So these were all my November favourites I hope you enjoyed reading them!

American Beauty Haul!

Hey everyone!

It actually feels like FOREVER since I last blogged (sorry!). Anyway since I got back from America, I was straight back to college and have had literally no time to do anything. I just started a masters and I've so much work to do so that's pretty much all I've been doing. Anyway enough with the excuses haha! Here's a few beauty items I picked up while I was on holidays in Florida. I literally had the best time ever there. It's such an amazing place and everyone's so friendly. I'll put up a random photo post soon so you can see what it was like.

I didn't get as much beauty products as I thought I was going to get. They had loads of the same brands we can get here in Ireland and I wanted to get some stuff that I can't get. Some stuff was more expensive than I was expecting so I just picked up a few cheaper products instead. Let me know what you think or if you've used any of these products before let me know how you got on with them.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in 739 Ticket to Brazil
Everyone knows I love my bronzer! I haven't used this yet but initially when I bought it I thought it was going to be similar to the Essence one I normally use. It's quite pigmented but has a little bit of shimmer which I don't really like so I'm not sure if I'll use it much. I'll definitely use it during the summer though. I got this for $4.49 in Walgreens.

EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet
I've heard so much about this before I went and I couldn't wait to get it but to be honest it's not all that it's made out to be. It's kind of dry and doesn't really spread well onto the lips. It comes out clear which is good for just softening the lips but I don't find it very good for hydrating my lips. I got this for $4.29 in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild 80% Longer Lashes Waterproof Mascara in C143 Very Black
This mascara is actually quite good. I think it's really good for de-clumping your lashes and the smaller brush is perfect for the lower lash line. It was $3.49 in Walgreens.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Shock and Pink Punch
Everyone has literally been raving about these all summer so I was so excited to try them out. I got the pink shock colour as it's quite subtle but still adds a bit of colour. The pink punch is one of my favourite beauty purchases in a while. I love how it's a darker colour but still a lip balm. They taste amazing and make your lips so soft. These were $4.79 each in Walgreens.

Wet n Wild Lipstick in 502A Dark Pink Frost and 511B Nouveau Pink
Saw these lipsticks and debated whether or not I'd get them. Then I saw they were only $0.99 each in Walgreens and that made up my mind fairly quickly! I have loads of bright pink lipsticks and the Nouveau Pink one is pretty much the same as them all but maybe not as dark. The darker colour (Dark Pink Frost) is almost like a darker nude colour. It's quite shimmery and comes out quite light.

Elf Lip Stain in 22121 Pink Petal
I've heard a lot about lip stains but never actually bought one. I saw this one and figured I'd try it out. The texture is weird and it actually felt and tasted like I was drawing on my lips with a marker. The colour itself is actually a nice natural colour and it stays on for so long. It's a good base for a lighter lipstick or a clear lip balm or gloss. However, I found it really dried out my lips. I got it for only $2 in Target.

Elf Liquid Eyeliner in 4203 Black
I don't really use eyeliner that much but as this was only $1 in Target I figured I should just buy it. It's really easy to use, the brush is good and it really stays put which is great when you're out but not so great when you try and take it off haha!

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours Lipstick in 529 Thalia
Ok I am literally in love with this lipstick. It's so much nicer on than it looks. It's such a perfect day-time colour. It's a darker pinky nude colour and it's probably my favourite lipstick ever! I've practically worn it every day since I got it and so many people have admired it. It's a creamy texture and really pigmented. Loving it SO much. It was $3.99 in Target.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blusher in 832E Heather Silk
This is such a pigmented blusher. It has a reddish tone to it that is actually a little dark so I only use a small bit of it. It comes with a little brush that's handy for travelling when you don't want to bring loads of brushes. It was $2 in Walgreens.

Conair 1¼ inch Curling Iron
I've always wanted a medium sized barrel in a curler and when I saw this I knew it'd be perfect. You get bigger, loose curls which was exactly what I wanted. It has different heat settings and heats up really quick. It was $20.99 in Walgreens.

Ok so that's all for my American beauty haul! I hope you enjoyed reading it! Let me know what you think of the products or if you have any questions please let me know. Have another few posts planned so hopefully they'll be up soon!
